What is JEE Main(paper-2)

The Joint Entrance Examination paper-2 (JEE Main) is conducted by CBSE for Architecture admissions in NITs, IIITs and CFTIs. The Paper 2 (B. Arch / B. planing.) of JEE Main will also be an eligibility test for the JEE Advanced, which the candidate has to take if he/she is aspiring for admission to the undergraduate programs offered by the IITs.

JEE Main for Admission to Undergraduate Architecture (B.Arch) at NITs, IIITs, Other Centrally Funded architecture and planing Institutions, Institutions funded by participating State Governments, and other Institutions shall include

• The performance in the class 12/equivalent qualifying Examination and

• Marks scores in the Joint Entrance Examination, JEE (Main).

JEE Main Eligibility Criteria

The JEE Main eligibility criteria needs to be fulfilled in order to appear for the exam. Before applying, you must ensure whether you are eligible to appear or not. The following points outline the Eligibility Criteria for JEE Main.

You should have at least five subjects with science stream in class 10+2 qualifying exam.

Your date of birth should be before 1 October 1990. For SC / ST / PWD candidates, 5 year relaxation is given.

You should have appeared in class 12th exam on or after 2014. If you appeared in 2013 and did not pass, and appeared in 2014 and passed, you are not allowed for JEE Main exam.

You can appear in JEE Main exam only three times.


Paper 2 - Exam pattern of JEE Main 2015 Paper 2 for B.Arch / B.Planning is explained.

• The question paper consists of three parts - Part I, Part II and Part 3

• Part I - Aptitude Test has 50 objective type questions consisting of four (4) marks for each correct response.

• Part II has 30 objective type questions of Mathematics consisting of four (4) marks for each correct response.

• Mark your answers for these questions in the appropriate space against the number corresponding to the question in the answer sheet placed insicle the test booklet.

• Part III consists of 2 questions carrying 70 marks which are to be attempted on a separate drawing

• Marks allotted to each question are written against each question.

JEE Main 2015 Marking Scheme

The Joint Entrance Examination (Main) will have multiple choice questions. Each question is followed by four options, of which only one is correct. Candidate will have to select the correct answer among the options.

1 /4 of the total marks allotted to the question allotted is deducted for incorrect answers.

• There will be objective type questions with four options having single correct answer. For each incorrect response, one fourth (1/4) of the total marks allotted to the question would be deducted. No deduction from the total score will, however, be made if no response is indicated for an item in the answer sheet.

How To Fill JEE Main Application Form Step By Step Guide

You will not get the provision to get hard copy of application form anywhere. So please be prepared to fill the online JEE Main application form. Keep documents such as photograph, signature, thumb impression, class 10 and 12 certificates ready. Please note these points

• You need to first register at jeemain.nic.in. Provide valid email ID and mobile number.

• Note carefully the application number and password generated in JEE Main application form.

• Refer to class 10 mark sheet and class 12 documents (if available) for details such as spelling of name, date of birth.

• After registration, you can choose to log out any time.

• Log in again using application number and password.

• Before you generate the e-challan or make payment, changes can be made in the form.

• No changes will be allowed after form submission.

Documents you will require while filling the Application Form For JEE Main

• passport size photograph with name and date. (Date - date of taking the photograph).

• Width and height should be 3.5 cm and 4.5 cm respectively.

• Save the image as .jpeg / .jpg file.

• Size of the file should be more than 4 kb and less than 40 kb.

• Take a white sheet of paper and mark an area of size 3.5 cm by 1.5 cm.
